ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Manager, Quality Assurance is responsible for the effectiveness of the company's quality management processes, ensuring that products consistently meet required standards and are delivered with reliability and compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
This role provides strategic leadership for quality assurance activities, driving continuous improvement across internal operations and supplier networks. The position serves as the primary owner of quality outcomes, leading investigations and resolution of non-conformances, while acting as a key point of contact for stakeholders and clients on quality-related risks, issues and corrective actions.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position works onsite in our Hong Kong office, with frequent travel. Frequent Travel throughout China, India, Mexico & Europe spending significant time at supplier locations to support development, troubleshooting, and production activities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and drive the effectiveness of quality processes across the organisation, ensuring consistent product quality and compliance with established standards.
Lead the investigation, root cause analysis and resolution of quality issues and non-conformances, with clear accountability for outcomes.
Develop and execute quality improvement strategies that enhance product reliability, customer satisfaction and operational performance.
Lead, coach and develop the quality team, building capability and promoting a culture of quality excellence.
Oversee supplier quality management activities, including supplier qualification, audits, corrective action management and performance improvement initiatives.
Manage AQL inspection plan and third parties’ inspection management.
Creation and reporting on quality KPIs, and cost of non-conformities (direct and indirect).
Ensure robust testing, validation and inspection processes are established and maintained, with accountability for final product approval prior to release or shipment.
Establish, monitor and continuously improve quality standards, procedures and metrics across the product lifecycle.
Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, customer specifications, industry standards and quality management systems, including ISO 9001.
Represent the quality function in cross-functional forums, providing expert guidance and influencing decision-making on quality-related matters.
Partner with internal stakeholders and external clients to proactively identify quality risks and drive timely resolution and preventative actions.
Support strategic business initiatives by ensuring quality considerations are integrated into product development, sourcing, manufacturing and supplier management activities.
REQUIREMENTS
· Proven experience in a senior quality role within retail packaging manufacturing environments, with clear ownership and leadership of quality outcomes.
· Native level Mandarin Chinese speaker and excellent English language skills.
· 10+ years of experience in quality, including 5+ years of team management
· Degree in quality, engineering, materials, or related fields
· Available for frequent travels throughout China, India, Mexico & Europe.
· Experience managing and developing teams, providing leadership, direction and visibility across quality functions
· Strong track record in supplier quality management, including audits, approvals and performance improvement
· Demonstrated experience leading root cause analysis, defect reduction and quality incident management
· Experience establishing and maintaining testing, validation and product approval processes
· Strong understanding of quality standards, regulatory requirements and quality management systems (e.g. ISO 9001)
· Experience operating with visibility at senior stakeholder level, including communicating complex quality issues and driving resolution
· Strong analytical capability with experience assessing process effectiveness and driving continuous improvement
· Ability to operate with a high degree of ownership and leadership, influencing cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
· Some exposure to working at a global level is an advantage.
